Despite its very affordable price, the JB300-5’s craftsmanship has been carefully designed to offer bassists new to the instrument an attractive, well-finished bass. The body, crafted from poplar for strength, is highlighted by a gloss varnish. The sturdy, comfortable 4-point screwed maple neck is topped by a laurel fingerboard, bringing stability and warmth.
A versatile configuration.
As for the electronics, the JB300-5 is equipped with 2 J-type single-coil pickups with their familiar layout, much appreciated for their snap, midrange and versatility. Very much at home on warm, clear sounds, they can also be very biting and percussive when combined with powerful distortion. To extend the sonic possibilities, a volume control for each pickup and a general tone control enable you to mix the characters of the different pickups and adjust their more or less brilliant timbre. The bridge/tailpiece block incorporates independently adjustable saddles to fine-tune the action and harmonics of each string and ensure effective sustain.
