Despite its very affordable price, the PJ400’s lutherie has received the utmost attention in order to offer bassists new to the instrument an attractive, well-finished bass. The body is made from paulownia, a light, robust and resonant wood providing comfort and beautiful vibrations. The sturdy, comfortable 4-point screwed maple neck is topped by a laurel fingerboard, bringing stability and warmth.
Versatile electronics.
As for the electronics, the PJ400 is equipped with 2 single-coil P and J pickups with their well-known configuration, much appreciated for their great versatility. Great for clear sounds, they can also be very biting and percussive when combined with powerful distortion. To extend the sonic possibilities, a volume control for each pickup and a general tone control enable you to mix the characters of the different pickups and adjust their more or less brilliant timbre. The bridge/tailpiece block incorporates independently adjustable saddles to fine-tune the action and harmonics of each string and ensure effective sustain.
