Music Box Smetana The Moldau

The mechanical music box plays the well-known Vltava theme (The Moldau theme) from the symphony cycle "Má vlast" (My Fatherland) by Bedrich Smetana. The romantic composer follows the Moldau from its sources to the High Castle in Prague, where it disappears. The flowing, bubbling, splashing and whirling is acoustically created by Smetana and you can feel the water, the life on the river, the landscapes and monuments. Captivating and touching. It is hard to believe that Smetana was already deaf when he composed it.

You can amplify the flowing melody if you place the small music box – with or without its informative packaging – on a larger resonance body and play it. This can be a table, chair, shelf or even a Cajon.
