Apitua is the name of this small African iron bell. Perfectly suited for accented playing. Comes with an iron striker.
The West-African Apitua is a small iron hand bell in canoe shape with a high, clear and crisp tone for rhythmic accents. Traditionally the Apitua is played in the ensemble with the doumdoum (djun djun) drums and it is used as a metronome for the whole band.
The Apitua is also known as atoke, toke, or – due to its shape – as banana.
Comes with an iron striker.
